NEW BIKE

Err now to some of you this will come as a surprise, and to others it will not but Bosun has gone back to a V Twin and this time a brand spanking new Harley Davidson FLD Switchback

So what has happened, is it the early daffodils providing an early spring surge, a worm hole in space, or the recent eye infection which stopped me test riding a triumph, well the last has a factor.

Many of you will know that I lost a lot of confidence after a few incidents on my road king and dare we say an incident in 2014 however the year and a bit on a triumph have brought my Vava voom back.

As I couldn’t test ride that day, I drove round the local dealers and was looking around, I had looked at the 1600 triumph but it just didn’t feel right. My good lady wanted me to have a rocket 3 but that’s too big.

But I had started to get an urge towards a v twin again, in the 35 years I have been riding bikes nearly half of that has been on v twins with 3 Yamahas and one Harley. Now I used to love my old drag stars but there is nothing in their or the current other Japanese manufacturers  ranges that floats my boat.

I was seriously fancying a sportster 1200T as I wanted bags and a screen and spent many an hour, well ok a Sunday evening, looking at finance options and looking at pictures on the interwebby place, with my good lady who was choosing every matt black one available, I was then instructed by my wife to ask about part exchange, and that’s where it all went wrong.

Visiting the dealer it was soon obvious that a sportster is just not right for a Bosun and too cramped and that’s when both Mick and Michael suggested a dyna, and after much juggling of finance (well done Michael) a deal was struck without even a test ride.

So let me introduce you to my new 2016 FLD Switchback the future bright, the futures velocity red the next step introduce her to a windmill and find her a name.

Even a damp ride home she was stable and everything I had hoped for heres to more adventures.
